Ireland

    Island round trip 2014

Ireland is a beautiful island country located in northwestern Europe, known for its stunning natural scenery, rich history, and vibrant culture. It is divided into two political entities: the Republic of Ireland, which covers most of the island, and Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom. Ireland is famous for its lush green landscapes, rugged coastline, and picturesque countryside dotted with charming towns and villages. It is also known for its traditional music, dance, and literature, as well as its delicious cuisine and world-famous drinks such as Guinness and Irish whiskey. To see all of Ireland's beauty my parents rented a car and drove around the whole island with me. We tried to stop at as many sights as we could. Some of the most memorable landmarks we visited were the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren National Park and the Ring of Kerry.

The Cliffs of Moher is a breathtaking cliff face that plunges down into the Atlantic Ocean. We hiked along the cliff tops, taking in the panoramic views of the rugged coastline and the crashing waves below. The Burren National Park is a unique landscape of limestone pavements, rocky hills, and wildflower meadows. We hiked through the park on our own, admiring the rare flora and fauna that thrive in this harsh, but beautiful environment. We drove the famous Ring of Kerry, a scenic drive that loops around the Iveragh Peninsula. Along the way, we stopped at charming towns and villages, ancient ruins, and picturesque beaches. After a two-week island round trip we left Ireland with a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and rich history of this enchanting country.
